Allotment scheme in Rohini to take place
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is going to hold a draw of the lots for the remaining 744 applicants of the 33-year-old Rohini scheme which had been delayed for a long time. The process has drawn flak from other applicants who have been ‘allotted’ plots but are yet to get possession.
Nearly around 82,384 applicants were registered for the scheme launched in 1981, but the allotment of plots has been erratic over the years. Though the DDA provided nearly 25,000 in the first three years, the number of allotments started drying up after that. The last 24,300 applicants to be allotted plots are yet to get possession of the promised plots in Rohini.
DDA is all set to conduct a draw of 744 undeveloped plots to waiting Rohini Residential Scheme 1981. These 744 unfortunate Rohini scheme registrants will be allotted a plot number on August 8 and will thus become lucky by just having a plot number from DDA against their scheme registration of 1981 as stated by Rahul Gupta; one of the registrants who have been spearheading the protest. This allotment scheme was put to stop for a long time.
