Amendment in town and country planning act
The Cabinet approval to the recommendations of the Select Committee of the Vidhan Sabha has paved the way for the regularisation of over 25,000 unauthorised structures in the state. The government will now bring an Ordinance till the amendment to the Town and Country Planning Act can be approved by the Assembly.
The decision to accept the recommendations of the Select Committee was taken at a meeting of the Cabinet, which was chaired by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh here today. Had the monsoon session not been adjourned abruptly, the government would have passed the amendments to the TCP Act. The TCP Bill had been presented to the House during the budget session and referred to the Select Committee.
Post the amendment gets approved by the Central government the works of the town management and rest will be starting off. This might initially take some time but once the first phase works get starts of the matters will get alright. Hopefully the work will be going well but that might only be stated once the amendment is bought into the whole matter. This will be demanding a lot of phase work.
