Apartment sizes reduced across metros: Commonfloor report
CommonFloor compared the apartments launched from 2010 to 2014 in its report “Reducing Apartment Sizes Across Major Metros – A Report” and inferred that apartments sizes have reduced in the last four years. While MMR witnessed a fall of almost 7 per cent during 2011 and 12.4 per cent in 2013, NCR witnessed a fall of 16.5 per cent in 2012 and 15.6 per cent in 2014.
The smaller size apartments fall well within the budget of the home buyers. Taking a cue from this, even developers have started launching smaller size apartments in the key realty markets including Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) and Bengaluru. As per the report, the overall fall in property sizes was in the range of 1.5-8 per cent across different areas.
With soaring property values, smaller size apartments in affordable price bracket perfectly fits the bill for prospective buyers.
