Assam’s Chief Minister gets Rs 1,450 crore for educational development
Tarun Gogoi, Assam’s Chief Minister has achieved an amount of Rs 1,450 crore in order to develop the infrastructure of ten state universities and also construct an all women university. An official source stated that Tarun Gogoi had recently met the Union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani in Delhi and had discussed about the lack of proper infrastructure.
He had also requested for the development in Assam in order to strengthen the education scenario. The Chief Minister has been able to get a support of Rs 1,200 crore for development of infrastructure of the ten different universities in Assam and he received Rs 250 crore to set up the woman only university. This woman only university is going to be built at a plot near SNDT at Jorghat.
The trouble that women is Assam as well as the north east face to continue education will be in a way sorted out through the setting up of this university. Universities in Assam also lack proper infrastructure, this act as a hindrance to cater to the various needs of students. It is hence going to be a leading step to speed the development of Assam at par with other states of India.
