Atul Auto to set up new unit near Ahmedabad
Atul Auto Rajkot-based three wheeler manufacturers will be setting up new production facility near Ahmedabad with a capacity of 60,000 units per annum. The auto company is looking for land in Sanand and on the Bagodara-Vasad expressway and will invest Rs 100 crore for the project.
“We are looking for locations around Ahmedabad. We are a smaller company compared to other automobile giants and are looking for feasible location near Sanand as well as Bagodara-Vasad expressway,” said Jitendra Adhia, vice president (finance), Atul Auto.
The new production unit will come up in two phases, each with a capacity of 30,000 units per annum. With an investment of Rs 30 crore, last year Atul Auto had doubled its production capacity at Rajkot plant from 24,000 units per annum to 48,000 units.
In February 2014 the company has sold 3,105 vehicles as compared to 2,610 vehicles in February 2013, showing growth of 18.97%. The total sale was 34,343 vehicles between April 2013 and February 2014 as compared to 29,010 vehicles between April 2012 and February 2013, an increase of 18.38%.
“In 2013-14, we expect the growth to be anywhere between 18-20%. We have seen positive growth around the year despite negative growth in other automobile segments,” added Adhia. Atul Auto exports in many African countries including South Africa.
