Australia keen on partnering with India to explore new operation fields in infrastructure
Mark Pierce, Australian consul general to India, has said in a recent statement that Australia is keen on partnering with India for exploring new operation fields in different sectors of infrastructure.
The statement was made by Pierce at a one-day international seminar on ‘public private partnership‘ (PPP) model and infrastructure projects. The seminar was held in Ahmedabad on June 25. Adani Institute of Infrastructure Management (AIIM) had jointly organised the seminar with the Australian Trade Commission.
Pierce participated in the seminar along with Grayson Perry – Australia’s Trade Commissioner for the Northern India – as well as Yasuhide Yamada, representative of a Japan’s trade body.
About Australia’s willingness to explore new operation fields in infrastructure with India, Pierce said that economic relations between Australia and India are being developed with “strategic moves.”
Both Pierce and Perry also talked about Australia’s noteworthy experience in financing as well as developing infrastructure projects. The Japanese representative, Yamada, told the audience about Japan’s experience – with help from Australia – in developing and managing infrastructure in India.
Pierce said that the partnership between Australia and India for exploring new operations in infrastructure was initiated by Prime Minister and former Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi; while Perry drew attention to the fact that “Australia has a significant expertise in development of infrastructure major projects through the PPP model.”
