Australian environment minister stated environmentalists’ concerns are exaggerated

The Rebutting concerns that have been raised by the environmentalists on the approval of the $16.5 billion coal and rail project of India’s Adani Mining in Queensland about its impact on the Great Barrier Reef were exaggerated as stated by the Australian environment minister Greg Hunt last day.

As the media reports here, Hunt has been insisting that the project would not have a big impact on the reef. Environmental groups like Greenpeace have been exaggerating the impact on the reef. It has been a casual, uninformed, false and untrue concern. The environment minister said that the predecessor of the mine Alpha Mine had been approved by the Labor state and the federal governments and environmental groups were less critical at that phase.

He further stated that they think what Greenpeace has to say is unfortunate so it appears that there will be one rule for the Labor decision and another rule for the Coalition Government. According to him there is supposedly going to be no problem in enhancing the project as the concerns are simply baseless. If there had been any matter of concern about the reef being affected any approval would not have been provided.
