Avenue Road covered with Diwali garbage leftover

The BBMP had to arrange for five JCBs and 16 trucks to lift the garbage piles and clean up the shopping avenue which was filled with 90 tones of Diwali festival garbage leftover.
The garbage piles created a pungent situation and the shop owners had to literally walk through the waste to reach their shops. The owners had a tough time to enter the street and open their shops.
Not only this, because of the garbage heap and foul smell from the cleaning process put off hundreds of customers.
Garbage heaps were reported from areas like Indiranagar and Ulsoor. 395 trucks carried around 3,870 tonnes of garbage from across the city. The festival added 15 percent more waste in the city, the BBMP officials added
