Bandra to build flyover and tunnels
If you are a regular traveller via the Kalanagar junction then a good news for the commuters especially to and from the Bandra-Kurla Complex is the city’s business park.
To save travelling time, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is planning to come up with two tunnels and a flyover connecting BKC.
The flyover will ensure seamless connectivity to the business hub from the Bandra-Worli Sea Link (BWSL) as well as the airport. The flyover will also de-congest the busy Kalanagar junction on the Western Express highway.
MMRDA consultants have proposed a flyover from the Bandra rail over-bridge near the BWSL, with two arms one landing to Dharavi and the other landing at BKC near Kalanagar.
Two tunnels have also been proposed, one from BKC to Nandadeep Garden, near the Kherwadi junction and the other from BWSL to BKC for better connectivity to the airport.
The whole project is expected to cost Rs 400 crore and the project will take two years to execute.
