Bangalore lacks basic amenities

No Comments Sub Category:Bangalore,Cities,Civic Issues,Uncategorized Posted On: Apr 24, 2013

Basic amenitiesYeshwantpur had witnessed a growth in terms of road infrastructure since 2008. The area comprises of former Uttarahalli Assembly constituency.

However, other amenities like under ground drainage, healthcare and drinking water are lacking in this area.

Areas of former Kengeri TMC and parts of former Pattanagere CMC get Cauvery water, whereas, other villages will have to wait two more years to get Cauvery water supply.

BWSSB officials said that the fund which they got under Cauvery Stage IV Phase II was only for the newly added areas of seven CMCs and one TMC and not the whole 170 villages brought under BBMP.

A Bangalore born and brought up bangles vendor laments he doesn’t have a house to stay and that he goes around different localities selling bangles and stay in a rented sheet house. He added that he is hoping to get a house under some government scheme.

Another problem in this constituency is the law and order as majority of localities come under the jurisdiction of neighbouring Ramanagaram district police. People staying there have to travel miles to reach their jurisdictional police. As a result, crimes and criminals are on the rise in this region.

Residents are hoping that Namma metro Phase 2 where the line would be extended from Nayandahalli to Kengeri on Mysore road will be completed on time.
