BBMP allots unique numbers to city roads
To check the irregularities that spring on during construction of road, BBMP has decided to allot unique numbers to Bangalore roads.
The database will also have details of length and breadth of the roads.
The motive of this move was to follow any duplication of road work presented on paper to loot more of public money.
In this, the BBMP officials and contractors were more suspected and that was the reason to assign the roads with numbers.
Around 94260 roads are laid in Bangalore city spread across 17000 kilometres and there are also plans of linking the roads with the optical fibres and tress around.
