BBMP Bangalore to review Building Plans
Following the BBMP Bangalore demolition drive at Mantri Mall on Sampige Road Bangalore Chapter of CREDAI, had alleged the Corporators were extorting money from the developers. While the commissioner claims that they were ‘Duty bound’ to conduct the demolition, the opposition leader alleges that it was a smooth strategy adopted by the Congress to get work done within the legal frame work.
Stung by the allegations, the BBMP corporators on Tuesday held an emergency meeting. Deputy Mayor Harish, who chaired the meeting, said the corporators have been planning to take a relook at the previously approved building plans of various developers, especially malls that come under the CREDAI.
JD(S) leader Padmanabha Reddy has asked builders to list out specific instances wherein corporators have demanded money. “Let the builders give names of those harassing them,” he said. Admitting that there might be a few ‘rotten apples’ among the corporators, Reddy asked the CREDAI to file complaints against those who allegedly tried to extort money from them.
The BBMP corporators held an emergency meeting and decided to review the projects approved during the two-and-half-year bureaucratic rule, especially malls that come under the CREDAI.
