BBMP pays no attention to Victoria Road
The condition of Victoria Road in Bangalore city is in pathetic condition causing problem to patients coming to Victoria hospital and to the Majestic-bound motorists from Ulsoor, Viveknagar and other areas.
The BBMP authorities, who create a lot of fuss whenever a house owner digs road for water or electricity connection, are not taking any responsibility on the asphalting work in Victoria Road.
Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has completed work on effluent treatment plant but has not asphalted the road. While BWSSB officials claim that restoring the roads was not part of the ETP work order.
Since dugouts are left uncovered, there are frequent traffic jams in the area. Heaps of garbage, potholes and debris on the footpath adds to the mess of the road.
It seems the BBMP engineers have conveniently forgotten about BBMP commissioner’s directive to fill up the potholes. There is a strong need of improving the road’s condition up to Lifestyle near Victoria Road and Richmond Road Junction.
