BBMP plans to vacate Russell Market
To evacuate traders from the Russell market, BBMP has issued a notice to the traders at Russell Market that water supply to the market will be stopped and the toilets on the premises will be locked.
Earlier the BBMP had disconnected the electricity supply in the market. But, the traders had pooled in funds and arranged the generator for the electricity. Presently around 120 mutton, 40 fish and 16 flower stalls are carrying on their business without electricity.
The traders are not worried too much, however the fruit and vegetable vendors along with meat and fish market will be facing the major problems.
Due to the lack of water, the meat and fish stock raises stench, as a result customers have stopped coming to the market.
