BBMP rushing to clear pending property tax payments
As per the targets issued by Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Commissioner M K Shankarlinge Gowda, the municipal officials have already started sending notices to the property tax defaulters.
The officials are on high alert, rushing in a fast pace to clear all pending property tax payments. By March 2012 target of Rs 500 crore has to be reached.
The notices are being served to all commercial, residential, educational institutes, tech parks, multiplexes, restaurants and apartments in Bangalore city.
Also, if the citizens fail to turn up responding for the notices, commissioner has asked the officials to go and meet the tax defaulters personally and get the procedures cleared. By hook or crook, now BBMP has to clear collecting all the pending property tax payments!
