BBMP to capture garbage pictures every morning

Bangalore- Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has directed all its 550 health inspectors and environment engineers to take pictures of uncleared garbage and upload them in the designated folder of BBMP website.

For this purpose they have been provided with Android phones too.

Only after the high court’s interference with BBMP regarding its inefficient management of the garbage crisis, the real time garbage management system got triggered up.

Before 6.30 a.m. the health inspectors and environment engineers must upload pictures of uncleared garbage in their jurisdiction, following which they have to get the garbage cleared and upload pictures of the same spot after garbage is cleared. BBMP commissioner and other higher-officials will be monitoring the work.

Around 148 wards of total 198 wards, have already started following the system. Soon, public too shall be given access to take pictures of garbage heaps, potholes, faulty street lights and post them on the designated BBMP portal.
