Bengal Abasan to develop apartments on Kolkata outskirts
A Kolkata-based group of real estate developers named as Bengal Abasan Builders are planning to invest nearly Rs 800 crore to build around 1,600 flats in Kalikapur. This group is the part of city-based Urban Abasan Group.
The projects name is ‘Urban Sabujayan’ which will be developed in two phases over the 22 acre area. The first phase includes 700-odd dwelling units and expected to be completed by the end of next year and the second phase having 900 units will be completed by the end of 2017.
Mr. Sunil Kolay, Project Management Consultancy Head, Cosmic Consultancy Service, says that the project will also consist of commercial space, schools and other facilities to make it look like a township. He further added that the dwelling units will be spread across 230 plus buildings over a 22 acre plot. The development process of the project will already start.
The development work on the second apartment complex at Boral which is in the southern fringes of the city is expected to start after October this year.
The group is looking to establish a 3 star hotel in the South Kolkata, work on which is expected to start by the end of this year.
