Big budget for the growth of Gr Noida
During Mayawati’s government there was a proposal to open an international airport Jewar, which was cancelled later due to financial issues. Now Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) proposed a budget of Rs 7,005 crore for a slew of development projects.
Already around Rs 550 crore has been reserved for improving connectivity of the city with Delhi and the NCR. Another Rs 150 crore will be used to make Greater Noida Eco-friendly.
This money will be invested into few key projects like the Metro route extension between Greater Noida and Noida. This particular route will be extended over 29.7km and would provide fast link and also bring many places closer to Delhi. Moreover this project will connect the busiest spots of Noida and Greater Noida.. It will cross around 22 stations.
The Government is thinking to consider providing air connectivity of some sort to the region. Hence, ambitious heliport project is planned in Greater Noida. This heliport will be a 25 acre project which is expected to cost Rs 50 crore. According to a government official. RITES has already been consulted Pawan Hans to assist in launching the pilot project.
To meet the growing power needs of the city, two 500 KV solar plants will be set up on the roofs of the proposed super-specialty hospital and the Gautam Budh University. This project will cost around Rs 6.5 crore, where 60% will be taken care by Noida Authority and rest 40% will be borne by Greater Noida Authority. The electricity generated by the 1MW plant will be sold at Rs. 7.50 per unit.
The new mega convention facility across 34 acres at the cost of Rs 50 crore got approval of the authority. The project has been selected and the model and design is expected to be ready by the end of the year. This development will be as good as Delhi’s India Habitat Centre. The convention center will be equipped with a conference area, auditorium, art gallery exhibition space, sculpture court, Guest accommodation, fitness center, library, restaurants, informal shopping and other amenities.

Government also kept aside Rs 100 crore for green buffer along the Yamuna and Hindon river front. Such development will help reduce the large scale encroachment by the land mafia on Yamuna river banks. Therefore, within the end of the year Delhi and NCR will come up with new public conventions. The only question that arises is how many plans will get successfully implemented without any hassles.
