The incoming government has not yet set foot into the parliament, and the Modi rule has already made plans to gift Uttar Pradesh the best, 60 flyovers for KASHI. According to sources from the government outback, Team Modi has spread its wings far an wide across the bureaucracy and has proposed their ideas on development for the city.

What the proposal for the same states is 60 flyovers in the city, and there would be two connecting flyovers that would seamlessly be planted by the Ganges banks, so that traffic congestion could be eased. One more proposal brought in by Team Modi would be of cleaning the holy river, Ganga.

Eminent professors from BHU opine that Modi has his eyes on beautification and to bring back the glory of the river, a holy pilgrimage spot for Hindus across the nation. Commercial activities too would be cracked down and eliminated that thrive on the many ghats of the holy Ganges

The city’s intellectuals help is being sought, on what Varanasi needs, says a source. Right from the professors at Banaras Hindu University to the esteemed Chamber of Commerce, everyone seems to be making a pitch or two, on ways to improve Varanasi and how to make it a model city.

In most probability, inspiration would be on the same lines of Gujarat model of development. So is this what seems to be Kashi’s near future, only time would tell how efficient and effective the model would be.
