Bio-tech parks and a most modern weather forecasting system to be deployed in J & K soon
The Centre on Monday announced the setting up of two bio-technology parks and a most modern weather forecasting system in Jammu and Kashmir. This will be done in the backdrop of the upcoming assembly elections in flood-hit Jammu and Kashmir.
The objectives of setting up the Biotech Parks are to utilize the medicinal plant, photo pharmaceutical, pharma bio-resources and aromatic plant bio resources available in the state. Core technology infrastructure will be created to enable setting up of new industry in the state based on unique biodiversity (medicinal and aromatic plants), protein therapeutics, vaccines and fermentation products to incentivise and support.Bio Parks will incentivise (tax structure etc) and support the start- up companies, for incubation and development of innovative led, high growth and knowledge based business.
The good news is that the Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh stated that the government will set up biotechnology parks in different parts of the country and two of them will be in Jammu and Kashmir. Singh, who represents Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir, also explained that the Department of Earth Science will also set up most modern weather forecast equipment near the Mata Vaishno Devi temple.
All these moves are aimed at providing comfort to the visitors to the heaven on earth and provide jobs to the local youth. The state rich in flora and fauna was affected by the militancy activities in the last 2 decades which have hampered the growth of the state by manifolds.
