BJP councillors question GDA allotments
The BJP councillors in the city last Monday went on alleging the Ghaziabad Development Authority. The councillors said that the Ghaziabad Development Authority have allotted housing units that are reserved for the economically weaker sections of the society to other people. A case of gross violation has been laid on the procedure by the UP government. Clarification has been brushed aside by the civic body on the same issue.
The GDA has claimed that under the scheme that has been launched last year, they have allotted the housing units under the ‘economically weaker section’ and ‘lower income group’ categories abiding the rules. They have claimed this against the response to the same allegation that has been levelled by the BJP councillors previously. According to the authority the BJP councillors have done this before and that there was no truth in the allegation.
The Ghaziabad Development Authority has further said that the allotment list was hardly provisional in nature and that the final allotments will be made post the scrutiny conducted by a committee that will be headed by a joint secretary level officer. Post the scrutiny the actual incident will come up surface. Actions will be taken accordingly.
