The civic administration in Mumbai admitted saying that they had penalized the tender contractors and that the administration has put down the terms and conditions of the current tender. To uphold this, contractors are encouraging plants more than five in number to take over the tender contract. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has collected nearly 1.2 crores as a form of penalty from the contractors as they have been held for being corrupted and delaying the construction work of the road buildings. The civic body also held a meeting in concern with these issues and there arose a debate with corporators, the civic body proved that these contractors are being benefited from the tenders.

The standing committee chairman Rahul Shewale reported saying that the contractors in the country in maximum are being penalized every now and then and that doesn’t pave way to stop their work. The BMC has been taking care of the issues and also added that they had not blacklisted any contractors instead penalized them. Additional municipal commissioner Aseem Gupta also reported saying that none of the contractors were blacklisted but the contractors have been fined for the irregularities over the work carried out by the civic departments.
