Mumbai- Inside the wish of smashing contractors’ corporation monopoly, the BMC  designed strategy of awarding deals for maintenance tasks of “ward roads” and decided to swap to an on the net process.
The civic body said that no manual interference will be allowed in the tender process for the new web-based mechanism. For maintenance and repair work the contracts will draw up to Rs 5 crores. The corporation took the decision for an online mode determining that the proposed procedure devised earlier this year called road works contract (RWC) may not get quality results. They are planning to assign one contractor per ward.
The quotation received are very low in compared to the schedule rates. So, the corporation decided to short list some of the contractor to undergo trails to check the utility and quality front. Social officials in addition to experts welcome the newest technique. That they explained it’s going to add much-needed visibility throughout conferment involving ward-level tenders and stop the actual stranglehold involving contractors in selected wards. Moreover, it’s going to inspire opposition.
