BMC to appoint agencies to study flyover project

1 Comment Sub Category:Mumbai,Municipality Posted On: Jul 17, 2012

In the light of objections raised by the standing technical advisory committee (STAC) against the BMC constructing a 1.3km flyover project along Ghatkopar-Mankhurd Link Road, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has sought suggestions from three agencies regarding pros and cons of the Rs. 90 crore project.

The committee had noted that the civic body did not have the technical expertise required to build flyovers and in response the Corporation has declared that it would soon adopt a chief engineer of bridges.

Moreover, they stated that repairing of bridges in the city, many of which run through the railway’s property, would be soon started.
