BMC to demolish illegal buildings

illegal shantiesWith the help of H(west) Federation the unauthorised mushrooming of 300 shanties in Bandra Reclamation within a fortnight has been reached to to CM.

This new slum is located behind Nargis Dutt Nagar slum and the flyover that connects the Sea Link to the Western Express Highway.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is planning to demolish the illegal mushrooming of 300 shanties in Bandra Reclamation. Home minister RR Patil said the civic body is to seek help from police to demolish the slums.

The mushrooming of 300 shanties rung is becoming a security threat for the citizens in Mumbai. In the last 15 days, approximately 300 slum dwellers from Nallasopara, Mira road and Dharavi have built new homes.

Already local residents have filed two non-cognizable offenses against slumlords operating in the locality in Bandra police station.
