BMC to revamp SMS complaint system
Brihanmubmai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is planning to rennovate the SMS complaint system as some loopholes have been highlighted about the SMS complaint service.
The BMC launched the service on June 18 so that the residents can lodge their complaints by sending an SMS to 9833331916. The service received a good response about different civic issues but there was no way to find how many of the complaints have been addressed.
Mahesh Narvekar, Chief officer of the disaster management cell, said that they are improving the system and the upgraded system will send the complaints directly to the respected department and the complaint number will be sent to the citizens so they know who is handling the issue and check the status of their complaint by themselves.
The system will get operated in mid-December and hoping that the new service will encourage many other owners to lodge more complaints.
