BMC to start audit of potholes

No Comments Sub Category:Mumbai,Municipality Posted On: Sep 12, 2012

A team of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) civic engineers is to conduct an audit of the pothole-filling work being carried out on city roads.

The decision has been taken after 1,738 potholes were reassigned or reopened for filling.

The BMC claimed that the cold-mix technology used to fill potholes is effective enough. However, recent heavy showers washed away much of the potholes and the civic body had to reassign around 1,093 potholes to contractors.

As a result, additional municipal commissioner Aseem Gupta has said that the civic body would undertake an audit of all filling work carried out by contractors this year.
