Bomb blast near Malleshwaram in Bangalore, several injured
Around 13 people are injured, including eight policemen and several vehicles have been damaged in an explosion outside the office of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at Malleshwaram today morning.
Bangalore police commissioner said that they suspect the blast was caused by explosives strapped to a bike which was parked near the BJP office.
However, he said the news can be confirmed only after the full and final investigation.
Initial report says that it was a cylinder that was exploded in a vehicle parked outside the BJP office. But police suspect it to be a low intensity bomb blast.
In the explosion, four cars, a police van and three two-wheelers have been damaged. Police have cordoned off the area and started with the investigations.
Police commissioner and senior police officers visited the spot. Bomb disposal squad, forensic team, fire fighting team and sniffer dogs are carrying out anti-sabotage checks in the BJP office in Bangalore.
Another bomb blast in Hebbal locality of Bangalore. If sources are to be believed then a stolen motorbike was used for planting the Improvised Explosive Device (IED). Police confirm use of IED in Bangalore blast and they are trying to locate the owner.
National Investigation Agency and sleuths were probing the blast site. All injured people were rushed to hospital and they are out of danger now. Karnataka has been put on high alert.
According to sources, the motorcycle in which the explosive was placed had a Tamil Nadu registration number and was parked there since yesterday. The injured in the blast include a CRPF jawanand a 18 yeras old PU student who was on her way to the tuitorial.
Meanwhile, the second blast that was reported from Hebbal has been termed as a rumour by the police.
