BWSSB watch on RWH installation in Bangalore
The Rain Water Harvesting (RWH) system is back into action in Bangalore.
In Bangalore city there are more than 55,000 houses which has been identified to install compulsory installation of RWH structures.
According to BWSSB’s records only 39,791 houses built on 30X40 area including government offices have adopted RWH structures.
When BWSSB officers did door-to-door inspection, they found various though silly reasons given by residents in Bangalore city for not installing RWH.
BWSSB sources say that few residents are mostly senior citizens and living alone are one category people who avoided to install RWH.
Few of the residents claim to have no money to install RWH, few old age population are not ready to install as they feel they will not live long to use rainwater from RWH structures.
Overall, around 15,000 houses identified houses are yet to install RWH in Bangalore.
