Chandigarh civic body may waive-off interest on tax arrears of over 80 industrial units

 CHANDIGARH: As 84 units of both aspects of the Industrial Area in Chandigarh have arrears deserving Rs 32.18 lakh of commercial property tax, Chandigarh municipal corporation (MC) will be offering a program in the monthly prevailing house meeting to waive-off their interest money.

 

Considering this is the most primary financial judgment associated with such a huge quantity of industrial units of both industrial aspects, only the general house is acceptable to catch the resolution on the topic.

 

The stated result of the expected arrears is relevant to the outbuildings built in these 84 industrial units. In their appeal, the industrialists announced these outbuildings were built in the industrial segments much after the demand of the commercial property tax in the city in 2004. Thus, there is no thought of inflicting the arrears from the moment and date when the shelters were not even built.

 

Since the owners of these industrial units did not disclose the further construction of these sheds, the survey projection of the MC’s tax branch estimated the tax price of these shelters considering the day of the command of the commercial tax in 2004.

 

“If people don’t hold more construction promptly after the work is completed, the MC will command the tax considering the day of the intrusions of the tax and thus they should have submitted the extra construction quickly after the shelters were available,” sources in the MC stated.

 

As through the records of the tax branch of the MC, these 84 industrial segments have previously paid a major amount Rs 39.32 lakh of certain factors, but the arrears reached up to Rs 32.18 lakh following it was required in 2004.

 

“Considering the maximum quantity is previously paid and the industrialists advocated that arrears are unfair as these were created much delayed, the usual house is the only accountable figure to get a policy determination in this respect. Accordingly, the focus is advancing to the general house,” said a senior MC official. As the matter is described to waiving-off the tax amount of spiritual and non-commercial properties presented several months back in particular, now the people of the house will have to obtain a judgment on the corresponding.
