Checking in hotel through mobiles
The chairman and CEO of Accor which has been recognized as the biggest hotel group in the whole of Europe, is one of those ‘insider-outsider executives’ helming a global giant. Bazin has taken office as the new chairman since last August and has been working in a project which will lead to a transformation in the 45 year old history of Accor.
Accor has been divided into two business poles and is laying emphasis on key geographies. When he visited India recently, he had a long conversation at a presidential suite in Mumbai at Sofitel. He told TOI, the rationale about matters of reorganization and why client data is the hotels biggest asset.
On asking him about how the transition has been this far , he mentioned that he is living about three to four lives- as a trader in Wall Street, an M&A banker, a private equity executive and the CEO of Accor. He has been a part of the board for nine long years and there is a lot that needs to be learnt. He seems very ambitious and wants to improve the conditions by giving more resources. He is a kind of locomotive who gives speed, fuel as well as direction
