Chennai Corporation will soon introduce fully online system to facilitate building-plan approval
In an official news release, the Chennai Corporation has revealed that it has efforts underway to launch a fully online system to facilitate developers in getting the requisite approvals for their building plans.
According to the Chennai Corporation, the introduction of the fully online system will essentially speed up the building-plan approval process by eliminating the requirements for the applicants to either meet with the officials concerned or rely on middlemen to get their plans approved by officials.
Under the fully online system, applicants will be able to submit the building plan, land documents as well as application fees online over the official website of the Chennai Corporation. The application fees can be paid by the applicants online directly to Chennai Corporation or into a bank, using a fee-payment-related form downloaded from the Corporation website.
For reference and follow-up of their case, the applicants will get an application number which will be generated online when they submit their application complete in all respects.
All applications submitted online will be forwarded to an approved surveyor for inspection and processing. The surveyor will check whether the building plan submitted for approval in accordance with the Development Control Rules.
If any changes or other documents are required, the applicants will be informed about the same; and, if all papers are in order, the application will be forwarded to the Corporation for further processing, which will be completed in a time-bound manner.
