Clear the violations before getting a nod on development- BMC speaks
There have been many violations and deviations on the green needs, which now the esteemed BMC has been asked to check for. BMC would have to do the necessary and mandatory checks before issuing commencement certificates for the revised plans of MIG(BLOCKII) located at Bandra East.
According to sources from the State Environment Appraisal Committee (SEAC), the BMC has also been asked to inform them of violations and deviations noticed, so that they too can act on the same and along with the revised proposal to the State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) an environmental clearance (EC) can be obtained. SEAC now states that the total construction area and the ground coverage for the same was not mentioned when the earlier environment clearance was granted.
The residents have complained about the deviations and the many illegal constructions happening around, before the environmental clearance was given, says a source. The developers of MIG BlockII, M/s Kalpataru Enterpises say that the EC for the project in question was issued way back in 2006, and now have approached the appraisal committee for a modified version of the same.
The modified details of the redevelopment plan are;
- a single tower with three wings (18 storey each)
- The total number of flats has been reduced from 236 to 199
- The total number of shops has been reduced from 17 to 8.
