Colaba flat sale row- no relief and respite in hand for Mumbai Lawyer
The esteemed and very well known Bombay high court on Tuesday was under fire when it gave out its reasons for rejecting the interim relief to Mumbai based lawyer who wanted to stop a buyer from making inroads into a posh flat in south Mumbai, Colaba.
The HC vacation was moved when advocate Rajiv Bhatia aged 31 applied for the “termination of sale agreement”, which was between him and the buyer Parvez Diwan. Sources say that the Colaba flat was sold to Diwan at the cost of INR 2.85 crores in March.
Bhatia wanted the restraining order to come through by the HC so that the buyer and his wife weren’t given permission to enter and take possession of the property. It was on May 15th when Diwan had to file an FIR for the same, and threw it on Bhatia and others around him when they found an aged senior female citizen who claimed to have possession of the flat with a change of locks.
The battle is still on at the Bombay High Court and there are reports which show that the agreement between both parties was registered and legal, and that Bhatia too has received the full money for the flat he sold which was owned by him in Colaba.
