Committee to be made for property tax assessment in Chennai
A resolution has been passed by the Chennai Corporation recently, which talks about constitution of a committee for assessment of property tax in the city.
Now, the Additional Commissioner (Revenue and Finance) of the Corporation has been given power to assess property over 50001 sq ft in both residential and non- residential domain.
Additional revenue officers or the zonal officers have been given power to check residential properties with built up area in the range of 3001-5000 sq ft and non- residential property of 1001-5000 sq ft.
Similarly, assistant revenue officers have been given power to assess non-residential property up to 1000 sq ft and residential property up to 3000 sq ft.
To review the property tax assessments done, there will be a meet on the same every Friday and all the proposals for property tax assessment will be put forward during the week.
