Gangster-turned-real estate agent Santosh Ambekar may escape being named in yet another case after complainant and builder Sanjay Dargan denied knowing him. On thursday a fresh case is registered at Sadar police station, several of Ambekar’s close aides including co-accused in two other cases Sanjay Fatode have been booked with charges of cheating and forgery.

Police have registered offence against Monty Gundecha, Prashant Nitnaware, Lucky Khan alias Nadeem Ahmed, broker Vishnukant Daima, Khan and Thakur for having duped Dargan to the tune of Rs 25 lakh, apart from Fatode.

Fatode and others had fixed a deal with Dargan to sell Shraddhanandpeth property belonging to Chhaya Gondhalekar for Rs 5 crore on the basis of a fake agreement to sale.

After approaching the crime branch, Dargan, who had paid the advance amount, learned that the Shraddhanandpeth property is a disputed one and an offence has been registered for fraud against Fatode, Gundecha and others in connection with it at Ambazari police station. Sources from crime branch stated that Ambedkar’s name may not be included as Dargan claimed not knowing the gangster.
