Residents of Koramangala were taken for surprise for what they did for their own good would hit them back!

Recently, the residents of this locality had demonstrated a peaceful protest against BDA for illegally cutting trees.

But they were instead held as defaulters and FIRs were filed against them for creating ruckus outside the police station.

The protestors were mainly children, women and nurses from the nearby St John’s Hospital and went to file a complaint against the authorities and illegaly taking up roads for construction work.

The police did not file their FIRs and instead told that case could be opened against those residents.

Residents in turn have to say that they are not deterred from what has happen and they will continue to protest against the same till action is taken.

    Well, I have no words.
Rather than making hefty fines for people who break traffic rules, only widening roads does not give any solution whatsoever. Traffic congestion might ease, but it’s just a matter of time – probably few days to some months that things will be back to where it was.
Bangalore is known for the greenery and good climate (Climate is already almost gone and the greenery is almost on the verge of collapsing). With the way civic bodies are behaving, I don’t think the charm of being in Bangalore will remain as it was earlier. I have always felt that government should be run as a corporate with clear objectives and reviews done by independent parties to ascertain the progress. But alas.. .With the political nonsense which is happening in Karnataka and to an extent entirely in India.. I am just deeply saddened and feel quite helpless. In this column itself, what is demonstrated by the civic body is something which is an example of the absolute lawlessness and blatant ignorance and apathy of public rights. It’s just ridicules.
