Complaint against minister by flat buyers
Representatives of NEFOWA (Noida Extension Flat Owners Welfare Association) met Uttar Pradesh urban development minister Azam Khan on Monday and presented him a list of complaints about upcoming real estate projects in Greater Noida and Noida.
NEFOWA president Abhishek Kumar said members had a detailed discussion with Khan. He added this was the first time that a flat buyers’ group approached the minister directly on such issues.
Flat buyers are tormented by the builders. NEFOWA co-founder said that they said that they informed the minister that pace of the construction is extremely slow. As a result, handover of possession of the projects in the area had been badly delayed, which has led buyers to suspect that the builders may not have acquired all necessary approvals from different authorities.
Despite the enactment of the UP apartment act 2010, for the last three years, none of the builders are following its rules. Builders change their layout plans without taking consent of buyers, applying for extra FAR and raising height of buildings, and building extra towers on projects that have already been sold, all of which violate norms of the act, Abhishek Kumar said.
