The civic body is considering to give the rebate in property tax to the industries in Satpur and Ambad industrial areas of Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC).

Haribhau Phadol, NMC’s deputy municipal commissioner (Octroi), said that they have already given five percent discount to the industries in property tax for using solar energy but now they are planning to give 10 percent discount following the demand.

The proposal is supposed to be discussed in the next general meeting and moreover they have to get approval of the general body.

After seeking approval from the general body they also have to ask permission of the state government.

The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) provides five percent concession to the individuals who are using solar heaters based on the state and central government’s policy to motivate usage of renewable power. It has given concession to 3,434 property owners since March 2006. The 10 percent rebate in property tax is not fixed but it is for limited period.
