Construction of IIM-Ranchi and NUSRL campus has stopped
The government of Jharkhand is saying that the 227.71 acres of land at Nagri were acquired by the undivided Bihar in 1957-58.
During that time the government acquired those lands for the construction of a seed farm of Birsa Agricultural University (BAU).
However the seed farm was not constructed and also 128 property owner refused to accept the amount granted as compensation for the acquisition.
Now when government has given the lands to the authority of IIM and National University for Study and Research in Law, the land owners has refused to hand over the lands as they did not receive the amount last time in 1957.
Now the government is planning to pay as per the valuation of 1957, which is refused by the landowners as the cost of the lands has been increased.
