No Comments Sub Category:Apartment News,Delhi-NCR Posted On: Jul 30, 2012

Delhi district consumer forum came up to stand for the rights of a consumer and directed leading real estate company Unitech Ltd. to pay back the booking amount and also imposed a fine of Rs. 15,000 on the company.

The complainant alleged that he had paid Rs. 6.5 lakh as an installment amount to the company in June 2006 but demanded back the money after discovering that the promised flat was not being delivered. However, the company refused to pay back the money.

There were allegations against the company that it sent letters arbitrarily to buyers increasing the rate of the flat from the initially agreed upon rate under the contract and after cancellation of the booking, it refused to pay back the amount.
