Court order may push realty prices up : Gurgaon developers
The Punjab and Haryana high court order barring developers from using ground water continues to draw sharp reaction from developers. The developers blamed the government stating that in spite of collecting external development charges (EDC) and infrastructure development charges (IDC) from them, the government has put them in a precarious situation.
They argued that Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) has failed to bring adequate canal water to Gurgaon, especially the new Gurgaon localities such as DLF City, Sushant Lok and Palam Vihar, forcing the developers to extract more ground water.
The developers feared that the realty prices could go up if they were forced to source water from other towns such as Noida, as it will increase costs associated with the projects.
