DDA announces its much-awaited ‘Housing Scheme 2014’
The much-awaited ‘Housing Scheme 2014′ has recently been announced by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA). The scheme is scheduled to be rolled out on September 1, 2014.
Under the scheme, more than 25,000 flats will be offered in a number of categories, including EWS, LIG, MIG, HIG, one-room apartments, and Janta flats. More than 22,600 flats under the scheme will be one-room apartments; and 896 flats will be constructed using green technology.
The cost of the flats under DDA’s Housing Scheme 2014 will range from Rs 7 lakh to Rs 1.2 crore, depending on the category. The registration fee for EWS category is Rs 10,000; while that for all other categories is Rs 1 lakh.
A five-year lock-in period for ownership of the flats is being introduced for the first time by DDA for the Housing Scheme 2014. The move is being undertaken with the aim of eliminating the middlemen and reducing the scope of speculative purchases.
Sharing information with regard to application for the flats under DDA’s Housing Scheme 2014, a senior DDA official said: “The ‘DDA Housing Scheme 2014′ would be open to applicants from September 1 and the last date to receive the application is October 9. The draw of lots would preferably be taken out within 20 days of the close of the schem
