DDA conducts smooth draw for housing schemes

No Comments Sub Category:Realty News Posted On: Aug 20, 2014

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has decided to slash its registration fee by Rs 50,000 for its new housing scheme expected to kick-off by the end of this month. For its 2010 housing scheme, the DDA had charged Rs 1.5 lakh as the registration fee but this time it has decided to cut the charge by Rs 50,000.

This means that the registration fees for all flats, except for economically weaker sections (EWS), will be quoted at Rs 1 lakh. The DDA had offered about 16,000 flats in its 2010 scheme, for which 7.4 lakh applicants were found eligible out of all those who had applied.

The registration amount deposited at the time of application was later refunded to unsuccessful applicants in the draw of lots. This practice will be continued this year as well. This practice has also made people willing to buy flats take participation in the draw. All the draws that are conducted for housing schemes do not offer such flexibility and transparency as has been offered by DDA.

Probably the complete process will be completed in the upcoming few months.
