Stating that the national capital was reeling under severe shortage of dwellings for its own population, The DDA Flat Applicants Association sought exclusion of non-Delhi residents from the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) Housing Scheme 2010.

The DDA Flat Applicants Association said around 16,000 flats that are available for draw of lots should not be made available to non-residents of Delhi. The DDA has come out with one of its biggest ever housing schemes for which the applications were received till last Friday.

The Association has alleged that because of a number of scheme, the DDA has lost the confidence of the people and should be called off. DDA is offering 16,000 flats under this year’s scheme. The Association demanded that the banks should return the deposit money with interest of eight per cent to all unsuccessful applicants.
