DDA may fail to deliver flats in Rohini on schedule
In an apparent indication that the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) may delay the delivery of flats in Rohini, a senior DDA official has revealed that it will probably not be possible for the Authority to meet the March 2015 deadline for handing over the possession of all the flats in Rohini.
With a local agitation seemingly having prevented DDA from ensuring that the construction of the flats in Rohini is carried out in full swing, the people who have been allotted the flats will probably have to wait for some time to get the possession of their units.
The local agitation which adversely affected DDA’s repeated efforts to complete the construction of the flats in Rohini was the protest by the locals at Barwala village.
With the agitation having hit DDA’s work, even though the apex court had removed the stay on DDA’s construction, over 18,000 flats which were allotted by the Authority in 2012 will not be delivered on schedule.
Noting that DDA has approached the police, in their effort to seek protection to complete the project, the senior DDA official said: “In the last two months, we have written to the police department twice. We are now looking forward to holding a meeting with the chairperson of the authority.”
