DDA Vice Chairman: DDA to implement land pooling policy within one month
During the course of a recent interview with The Hindu, Delhi Development Authority (DDA) Vice-Chairman Balvinder Kumar said that the DDA has efforts underway towards the implementation of the land pooling policy within a month.
Kumar said that the DDA is currently in the process of preparing a presentation for the land pooling policy. The presentation will put forth the details of the policy before new Central Government headed by Narendra Modi.
About the land pooling policy, Kumar said that since the policy will comprise diverse components of public-private partnership, it will be possible for landowner – including farmers – to form consortiums and join forces with private builders or banks for consolidation of their land parcels. Thereafter, they can develop the land in accordance with the zonal plans which have been approved as part of the Delhi Master Plan-2021.
Meanwhile, in response to a question pertaining to conversion of property from leasehold to freehold, Kumar said that the DDA is set to make the process hassle-free for people by announcing a new policy related to conversion of properties within 15 days.
Noting that the new policy will ensure smooth conversions of properties, Kumar elaborated that the DDA has recently uploaded a video on its website explaining the procedure of conversion of property from leasehold to freehold. The video is accessible via a click on the link — Freehold /Nagrik Suvidha — on the homepage of the DDA website.
