DDA will implement corpus fund for house maintenance
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is going to create a corpus fund for the lifetime maintenance of its flats on offer. This fund will be provided for all the 25,600 flats it is going to offer as part of the 2014 Housing Scheme.
The scheme is slated to be launched on August 25, said DDA vice-chairman Balvinder Kumar. He stated that they will be forming a corpus of Rs 300 crore for the maintenance of these flats and will charge Rs 1.3 lakh extra from residents for it. The Delhi Development Authority will itself take care of the maintenance work of the different flats for 30 years.
After that, the money will also be handed over to the Residents’ Welfare Association (RWA) and the area’s DDA executive engineer for maintenance. For about 30 years, the DDA will be carrying out all the electrical fixtures, repair work and painting of the common areas. Since the flats are likely to require redevelopment after 30 years, it will be the responsibility of the RWA to use these funds accordingly.
This new plan will help in maintaining the flat without much tension to the residents.
