DDA’s housing scheme to be launched on Monday
With its biggest ever housing scheme slated to be launched on Monday, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is fighting against time to ensure that the process runs smoothly. There are 25,034 flats on offer in DDA’s 2014 housing scheme and the number of applicants is expected to run into several lakhs.
In its last housing scheme in 2010, 7.4 lakh people had applied for more than 16,000 flats. One problem that the authority is facing is in the case of printing brochures. Though the draft for the brochure has been ready for quite some time, many changes were brought in recently after the authority’s meeting.
As a result, printing of the brochures couldn’t start on time as said by a senior DDA official. DDA vice-chairman Balvinder Kumar said that there was nothing to worry about. People usually take their time and apply much later. Also, we are expecting that with internet facility now available at most homes, most people will simply download the brochure he stated.
This housing scheme is being held after long and the DDA is looking forward to it.
