Delayed property tax bills to be acquired in November
Due to a software problem, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation‘s (BMC) plan to send out property tax bills by September has been delayed. The property tax bills are likely to be delivered to citizens in November.
The BMC has demanded the software developer to hand over the software by October 15. Once the software is acquired, there will be trails conducted to address any concerns. If needed, changes will be made to the software to ensure smooth functioning.
Once the software is ready and launched, citizens will be able to calculate their property tax by themselves and check if the BMC has sent them the correct bill. Unlike earlier, the BMC is now using property-wise coding which will help in precise accounting.
The final property tax bill will be followed by a special notice which will reflect citizens’ property’s capital value.
